We attended the National PDI championships in Warwick on Sunday 19th July. There were 48 qualifying clubs (the top 3 clubs in all federations plus any clubs having made the final the previous year). Before the event we had selected a bank of 40 images and chosen 8 of those for the first round. After the first round was judged we were in 8th position and we then had to choose our second 8 images from the bank based on what we thought the judges seem to like. We won the second round which put us in 5th place overall with the combined 2 scores and therefore qualified for the final (the top 8 clubs go into the final the rest compete for the plate). We then had to choose 20 images, 10 of which could be from the previous 2 rounds and 10 new ones. Chorley came first, followed by Rolls Royce Derby and Smethwick and we ended up in 7th position which is pretty good. Having made the final we have requalified for next year. The club received a Bronze Medal and Richard got a Selectors Medal for ‘Culture Vultures’ (pictured) which was also our top scorer.
